Family Trio Spice Company began with a marriage and later evolved into a shared family dream inspired by their child.
The company’s story dates back to 2011, when the founders, Cherie and Brian were married. While deciding on a gift for their wedding guests, they chose to create custom spice blends that reflected their individual personalities and how well they complemented one another. This led to the creation of Brian’s BBQ Blast and Cherie’s Summer Savory, which became a memorable highlight of their destination wedding. In the years that followed, guests frequently requested additional spices. However, those requests gradually subsided after the arrival of their son, John, as friends and family understood the demands of their growing household.
Nearly a decade later, John discovered an old tin from the wedding and asked about it. This rediscovery sparked a renewed conversation about the idea they had once set aside. Around that same time, their son drew a tree with three branches and suggested they start a spice business called “Family Trio,” symbolizing their family.
Inspired by this moment, Brian began recreating the original blends and experimenting with new techniques, including using a dehydrator and later a smoker. Over time, their creations improved significantly. After years of research and development, they developed more than 20 proprietary spices and blends. Their offerings range from single, locally sourced spices to more complex components, all carefully crafted into finished blends.
Today, Family Trio Spice Company is a small, family-owned business dedicated to crafting distinctive spice blends and establishing a unique presence in a competitive market.
